The Harms of Bribery
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
What are the effects of bribery on corrupting the interests, conduct, and dealings of Muslims?
Answer:
The answer to this question becomes clear from the answer to the previous question. Among the effects of bribery on the interests of Muslims is also the oppression of the weak, the deprivation of their rights, or the loss of those rights, or the delay in their acquisition without right, indeed, for the sake of the bribe.
Among its effects as well is the corruption of the morals of the one who takes it, whether a judge, an employee, or others, and his victory for his own desire, and the deprivation of the right of the one who did not pay the bribe, or its complete loss, along with the weakness of the faith of the one who takes it and his exposure to the anger of Allah and severe punishment in this world and the Hereafter. Indeed, Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, delays [punishment] but does not neglect, and He may hasten the punishment of the wrongdoer in this world before the Hereafter, as in the authentic hadith from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said:Sunan Ibn Majah 4211Sahih (Darussalam).
There is no doubt that bribery and all other types of injustice are from the transgression that Allah has forbidden.
In the two Sahihs, it is narrated from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said:Sahih al-Bukhari 4686 Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recited the words of the Exalted: [Hud: 102].

There is no sin more deserving that Allah hasten the punishment in this world, in addition to what is stored up for him in the Hereafter – than injustice and severing the ties of kinship.
ما من ذنب أجدر عند الله من أن يعجل لصاحبه العقوبة في الدنيا مع ما يدخره له في الآخرة من البغي وقطيعة الرحمThere is no doubt that bribery and all other types of injustice are from the transgression that Allah has forbidden.
In the two Sahihs, it is narrated from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said:
Allah gives respite to the oppressor, but when He takes him over, He never releases him.
إن الله ليملي للظالم حتى إذا أخذه لم يفلتهAnd thus is the seizure of your Lord when He seizes the cities while they are committing wrong. Indeed, His seizure is painful and severe.
وَكَذَلِكَ أَخْذُ رَبِّكَ إِذَا أَخَذَ الْقُرَى وَهِيَ ظَالِمَةٌ إِنَّ أَخْذَهُ أَلِيمٌ شَدِيدٌ
