Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
What is the authenticity of the hadith:
God curse the one who looks and the one who is looked at!لعن الله الناظر والمنظور إليه
Mishkat al-Masabih 3125
?

Answer:
Al-Hasan narrated it as a mursal report, saying: It reached me that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
God curse the one who looks and the one who is looked at!لعن الله الناظر والمنظور إليه
Mishkat al-Masabih 3125
Al-Bayhaqi narrated it in *Shu'ab al-Iman*. I said: Al-Hasan’s mursal reports are weak, and we do not know of any basis for this text that supports it. Then I saw in *Kashf al-Khafa* by Al-'Ajluni (may Allah have mercy on him), page 408, that this hadith is attributed to the fabrication of Ishaq al-Maluti. May Allah deal with him as he deserves.
