Examples of shirk in lordship

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : However, among the major shirk in lordship is believing that a cause which Allah has not made a cause, neither cosmically nor legislatively, is a cause that benefits or harms. An example of this is calling upon the dead other than Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He). Therefore, we should not be deceived when we hear the statements of those who interpret the actions of these people who have fallen into major shirk, claiming that they do not believe that the dead benefit or harm. If they are asked, "Then why do you call upon them other than Allah (Mighty and Majestic)?", they answer that they hear. If they say they hear, then the one seeking nearness or the caller benefits from calling upon the one who hears, other than Allah (Mighty and Majestic). Otherwise, if he did not believe that he hears him, he would not call upon him.
