A question regarding kissing the mushaf

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Is kissing the mushaf permissible or not?

Answer:
This act has no basis, and leaving it off is better because there is no evidence for it. However, it is narrated from some of the Companions that he kissed the mushaf and said, "This is the speech of my Lord." There is no harm in the one who does it, but there is no evidence for it, and leaving it off is preferable. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not do it, and it is not established from the Companions; it is only narrated from 'Ikrimah, which may be authentic or may not be authentic. Therefore, leaving it off is preferable due to the lack of evidence.
The important thing is to act upon it, recite it, and increase in reading and action. This is the important thing and this is the obligatory thing. A person must increase in reading the Qur'an, reflect upon it, and act upon it. This is what is required of him.
