What is the ruling on kissing the mushaf?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : What is the ruling on kissing the mushaf?

The Shaykh : Kissing the mushaf is a religious innovation (bid'ah), because the one who kisses it intends to draw near to Allah (Mighty and Majestic) by kissing it, and it is known that one does not draw near to Allah except by what Allah (Mighty and Majestic) has prescribed. Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) has not prescribed kissing what contains His words. In the time of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), the Qur'an was written, but it was not compiled; it was only written in scattered verses. Nevertheless, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not kiss it, nor did the Companions kiss it. Therefore, it is a religious innovation (bid'ah) and is prohibited.
Some people also, as I see, kiss it and place their foreheads on it, as if they are prostrating upon it, and this is also reprehensible.
