It is not permissible to claim divorce in order to obtain money

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Regarding the marriage contract and the annulment of the marriage contract in Denmark, knowing that some Muslims residing in the Scandinavian countries, generally and Denmark specifically, annul their marriage contracts at the marriage office, claiming that there is a disagreement between them, but in reality there is no disagreement between them, whether material or moral, but their goal is to obtain an increase in social assistance, even though they are not in need. Does their action permit them to do this? And does this matter keep the relationship between the husband and wife intact? Or does it become a divorce?

Answer:
This action is not permissible. This is injustice and lying. They do not lie in order to take money without right. They have no right to this matter. This is what is wrong. And if he claims that he divorced her, he is held to his admission. The divorce is counted against him, becoming one divorce or two, according to what he said. But it is not permissible to resort to deception to take money by claiming marriage while he is lying. We ask Allah for well-being.
