The ruling on one who abandons the deeds of the limbs while uttering the two testimonies

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Are the scholars who said that one who abandons the deeds of the limbs, while uttering the two testimonies and having the foundation of faith in the heart, is not a disbeliever, among the Murji'ah?

Answer:
This is from the people of the Sunnah and the community. The one who said that one who abandons fasting, or zakah, or Hajj, is not a disbeliever, but he has committed a great major sin, and he is a disbeliever according to some scholars, but the correct view is that he does not commit major shirk. As for the one who abandons prayer, the stronger view is that it is major shirk, if he intentionally abandons it.
As for abandoning zakah, fasting, and Hajj, it is shirk less than shirk, a sin and one of the major sins. The evidence for this is that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said regarding the one who withholds zakah:
Abu Dharr reported that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: I know the last of the inhabitants of Paradise to enter it and the last of the inhabitants of Hell to come out of it. He is a man who would be brought on the Day of Resurrection and it will be said: Present his minor sins to him, and withhold from him his serious sins. Then the minor sins would be placed before him, and it would be said: On such and such a day you did so and so and on such and such a day you did so and so. He would say: Yes. It will not be possible for him to deny, while he would be afraid lest serious sins should be presented before him. It would be said to him: In place of every evil deed you will have a good deed. He will say: My Lord! I have done things I do not see here. I indeed saw the Messenger of Allah laugh till his front teeth were exposed.يؤتى به يوم القيامة يعذب بماله
Sahih Muslim 190a
, as the Noble Qur'an also indicates:
The Day when it will be heated in the fire of Hell and seared therewith will be their foreheads, their flanks, and their backs, [it will be said], "This is what you hoarded for yourselves, so taste what you used to hoard."
[Surat al-Tawbah: 35]. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) informed that he will be punished with his wealth, his camels, his cows, his sheep, his gold, and his silver, and then he will see his path after this to Paradise or to the Fire. This indicates that he has not committed disbelief, because seeing his path to either Paradise or the Fire indicates that he is threatened; he may enter the Fire, or he may be satisfied with the punishment in the barzakh and not enter the Fire, but rather go to Paradise after the punishment in the barzakh.
