The Ruling on the Witr Prayer While Traveling

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Is the witr of the 'Isha' prayer while traveling three rak'ahs or one rak'ah?

Answer:
The witr is whatever is easy: three, five, seven, or nine. It has no fixed limit, whether traveling or resident. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would perform witr while traveling and while resident. This is the sunnah of witr in both travel and residence.
As for the sunnah prayers of the Zuhr, 'Asr, Maghrib, and 'Isha' prayers, it is better to leave them off while traveling.
