Explaining the meaning of the wrist, the ulnar side, the radius, and the forearm.

The Shaykh : The radius is the middle part between the wrist and the ulnar side, because a person has an elbow, which is the joint between the upper arm and the forearm, and he has a wrist, an ulnar side, and a radius. The wrist is the end of the forearm on the side of the palm near the thumb, and the ulnar side is the end of the forearm bone on the side of the palm near the little finger. As for the radius, it is what lies between them. Accordingly, the poet says:
"The bone near the thumb is the wrist, and what is near *** the little finger is the ulnar side, and the radius is the middle
And the bone next to the big toe of the foot is called the radius *** So hold fast to knowledge and beware of error"
When the common people want to use a simile for a foolish person, they say: "This is a man who does not know his wrist from his ulnar side". Most people say that the wrist is the elbow, which is the limit of the ablution, but that is not the case. At the joint of the palm with the forearm, what is near the little finger is the ulnar side, what is near the thumb is the wrist, and what is between them is the radius. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) wore his sleeves down to the radius.
