The Ruling on Supplication Aloud

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q: The brother A. A. H. Q. from Subat al-Allaya says in his question: Some people raise their voices in supplication, disturbing those around them. What is the ruling on this action? We ask you to kindly provide the answer.

A: The Sunnah is to keep supplications secret in prayer and otherwise; because Allah the Exalted said:
Call upon your Lord in humility and privatelyادْعُوا رَبَّكُمْ تَضَرُّعًا وَخُفْيَةً
[Al-A'raf: 55] and because that is more perfect in sincerity and more gathering of the heart upon the supplication, and because of the absence of disturbing the praying and reciting people around him, except if the supplication is of a type where it is safe to raise the voice, such as the supplication of qunut and the prayer for rain, in which case the imam raises his voice so that the listeners can say "Ameen." And success is from Allah.
