The advice to persist in giving counsel
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q: I find it difficult to maintain commitment and steadfastness in the religion with some of my relatives, especially my sisters and my mother. What do you advise me to do?
A: We advise you to persist in counseling them, encouraging them to obey Allah and His Messenger, and warning them against sins. You should also recite for them the verses and hadiths related to their actions, while asking Allah the Exalted for their guidance during the times of response and other times. If it is possible for some relatives or other scholars to assist you in this, it is more beneficial and closer to their acceptance and guidance. This is based on the saying of Allah the Exalted: [Al-Ma'idah: 2], and His saying (peace and blessings be upon him): : [Al-Asr: 1-3], and His saying the Exalted: [Al-Tahrim: 6], and the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): It was said: For whom, O Messenger of Allah? He said: Sahih Muslim 55a It was narrated by Muslim in his Sahih. And his saying (peace and blessings be upon him): Sahih Muslim 49a It was also narrated by Muslim in his Sahih. And the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): Sahih Muslim 2586a It is agreed upon as authentic. There are many verses and hadiths in this meaning. May Allah help you with all good and rectify the condition of everyone.

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا قُوا أَنْفُسَكُمْ وَأَهْلِيكُمْ نَارًا وَقُودُهَا النَّاسُ وَالْحِجَارَةُThe religion is sincere advice
الدين النصيحةTo Allah, to His Book, To His Messenger, and to the leaders of the Muslims and their masses.
لله، ولكتابه، ولرسوله، ولأئمة المسلمين، وعامتهمHe who amongst you sees something abominable should modify it with the help of his hand; and if he has not strength enough to do it, then he should do it with his tongue, and if he has not strength enough to do it, (even) then he should (abhor it) from his heart, and that is the least of faith.
من رأى منكم منكرًا فليغيره بيده، فإن لم يستطع فبلسانه، فإن لم يستطع فبقلبه، وذلك أضعف الإيمانThe similitude of believers in regard to mutual love, affection, fellow-feeling is that of one body; when any limb of it aches, the whole body aches, because of sleeplessness and fever.
