Maintaining family ties while continuing to advise them

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa No. ( 4270 )
Q2: I have maternal uncles, and they perform the obligatory prayers in the mosque. When I used to visit them, their women would also perform the obligatory prayers. However, a worldly dispute arose between them and my father. When they sat down to resolve it, they wanted to swear an oath falsely and with slander. We knew they would swear falsely, but my father did not agree to let them swear after they had brought the Book of Allah and performed wudu' to swear by purity, in order to deceive the people present. After that, the worldly problem was resolved, but the severance of ties
increased because of this wicked oath. So what is the opinion: should I maintain ties with them or sever them? Even though I have severed ties with them for more than three years, and I have not allowed my mother to go to them for three years until now, because they have defied Allah and His Messenger. What is the ruling?

A2 : You should not continue to sever ties with them, but rather you should maintain ties with them in the future, and apologize for the shortcoming that occurred from you in the past. In that lies much good, for it strengthens the bonds, removes grudges, maintains sympathy, removes sin, and earns reward and the maintenance of family ties, while continuing to advise them to repent to Allah from the falsehood they fell into. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
