Do we include the Muslim Brotherhood and the Tablighi Jama'ah within the circle of the people of the Sunnah and the community?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner: The Muslim Brotherhood and the Tablighi Jama'ah.

The Shaykh: Yes.

The questioner: Do we include them in the circle of the people of the Sunnah and the community, or are they from the people of innovation? I want a concise answer, O Shaykh?

The Shaykh: My brother, regarding the Tablighi Jama'ah, we say that they are a group in whom there is good, righteousness, mindfulness of Allah, and eagerness to act according to Islam. However, they do not concern themselves with understanding Islam according to the Book and the Sunnah and the methodology of the pious predecessors. Likewise, the other groups: every group, every sect, any individual who raises his voice and calls all Muslims to follow the Book and the Sunnah and the methodology of the pious predecessors—he is from the people of the Sunnah and the community. I repeat and keep returning to the methodology of the pious predecessors; it is he who is from the people of the Sunnah and the community. Otherwise, there is no group of Muslims, not even the Rafidah or the Ibadis, who do not claim to be upon the Book and the Sunnah. But none of these people says they are upon the Book and the Sunnah and the methodology of the pious predecessors. Therefore, do not be concerned with the propaganda and the raising of voices in calling to Islam, so that the callers are called by their names as callers to Islam, when in fact they are calling to an Islam that encompasses whatever has arisen on the face of the earth from sects, factions, and parties. Whoever raises his voice with the Book and the Sunnah and the methodology of the pious predecessors is upon guidance. Then it does not harm him if his foot slips in one issue or another. This is my answer to your last question.

The questioner: May Allah reward you with good, O Shaykh. Remember that the topic has a remainder, and we do not prolong it on you because...

The Shaykh : Good, if Allah wills.

The questioner: Peace be upon you.

The Shaykh : And upon you be peace, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings.

The questioner: ... meaning, later.
