Ruling on Offering Perfume to Female Visitors

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
From 'Abd al-'Aziz ibn 'Abd Allah ibn Baz to the honorable sister: F. F. (may Allah keep her safe). Peace be upon you, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings. After that:
I refer to your inquiry, registered with the General Authority of the Senior Scholars under number 4253, dated 19/8/1412 AH, in which you ask about a number of questions, including:
The question regarding the ruling on offering incense and perfumes to the women who visit you, in accordance with the custom practiced in your country?

A: I inform you that there is no harm in doing so, provided that the women to whom you offer the perfume do not go out to the markets after leaving your house, but rather return to their homes in cars, or the houses are close together such that no free mixing with foreign men occurs after they leave you.
However, if the situation is otherwise, excuse yourself to them and inform them that it is not permissible for a woman to go out with perfume among foreign men; because the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) prohibited that; due to the fitnah (trial, discord or temptation) involved in it. May Allah guide everyone to what pleases Him, for He is the All-Hearing, the Responsive.
And peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah and His blessings.
