Ruling on shaving the beard out of necessity for one who works in the army
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q: I am in the army and I always shave my beard, and that is against my will. Is this forbidden or not?
A: It is not permissible to shave the beard; because the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered its growth and letting it hang down in authentic hadiths, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) informed that in growing and letting it hang down lies the difference from the Zoroastrians and the polytheists. He (peace and blessings be upon him) had a thick beard, and obedience to the Messenger is obligatory upon us, and emulating him in his character and actions is among the best of deeds; because Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) says: [Al-Ahzab: 21]. And He (Mighty and Majestic) said: : [Al-Hashr: 7]. And He (Glorified and Exalted is He) said: [Al-Nur: 63].
Imitating the disbelievers is among the greatest of wrongs, and among the causes of being gathered with them on the Day of Resurrection; due to the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):Sunan Abi Dawud 4031Hasan Sahih (Al-Albani) So if you are in a job that obligates you to shave your beard, do not obey them in that; because the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Mishkat al-Masabih 3696 If they force you to shave it, then leave this job that leads you to do what angers Allah. The other means of sustenance are many and easy, and praise be to Allah. And whoever leaves something for the sake of Allah, Allah replaces it with something better for him. May Allah guide you and make your affairs easy, and may He keep us and you firm upon His religion.

There has certainly been for you in the Messenger of Allah an excellent pattern
لَقَدْ كَانَ لَكُمْ فِي رَسُولِ اللَّهِ أُسْوَةٌ حَسَنَةٌAnd whatever the Messenger has given you - take; and what he has forbidden you - refrain from
وَمَا آتَاكُمُ الرَّسُولُ فَخُذُوهُ وَمَا نَهَاكُمْ عَنْهُ فَانْتَهُواSo let those beware who dissent from the Prophet's order, lest fitnah strike them or a painful punishment.
Imitating the disbelievers is among the greatest of wrongs, and among the causes of being gathered with them on the Day of Resurrection; due to the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
