Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q: It is mentioned that among the things that invalidate wudu' is severe vomiting and severe bleeding, which is a nosebleed. If a person experiences a nosebleed from the nose during the four-rak'ah prayer, and it has been said regarding this: that he should leave the prayer, go to the toilet, perform wudu', then return and complete the two remaining rak'ahs, is this correct? May Allah reward you with good.
A: Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions. As for one whose wudu' is invalidated during the prayer by passing wind, a heavy nosebleed, or anything else, his prayer is invalid according to the most correct of the two opinions of the scholars; based on the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):Bulugh al-Maram 2:68 It was narrated by Imam Ahmad and the people of the Sunan, as al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar mentioned in al-Bulugh.
As for the hadith regarding building upon what has passed of the prayer, it is a weak hadith, as al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar also clarified in al-Bulugh.
May Allah guide everyone. And peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah and His blessings.
