Ruling on blood coming from a woman immediately after the ritual bath
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q: I have noticed that when I take the full ritual bath after my monthly period, and after sitting for the usual duration—which is five days—a very small amount sometimes comes out of me, and that is immediately after the bath. Then nothing else comes out. I do not know whether I should consider only my usual five days, and not count anything beyond that, and pray and fast, with nothing required of me in that? Or should I consider that day as one of the days of the period, so that I do not pray or fast on it? I should mention that this does not happen to me constantly, but only after every two or three periods approximately. I ask for your guidance.
A: If what comes out of you after purity is yellowish or brownish discharge, it is not considered anything, but its ruling is the ruling of urine.
However, if it is clear blood, it is considered part of menstruation, and you must repeat the full ritual bath; for it is established from Umm Atiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her)—who is one of the Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)—that she said:Sunan an-Nasa'i 368Sahih (Darussalam).

We used not to regard yellowish and brownish discharge as anything important
