The Media Campaign by Many Newspapers Against the Preachers
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question: What is your opinion regarding the media campaign by many newspapers against the preachers? Specifically against some Islamic bodies, such as the Commission for Promoting Virtue and Prohibiting Evil?
Answer: The preachers to truth, and those who enjoin good and forbid evil, have enemies and opponents from among the atheists, the communists, and the open sinners. Therefore, it is obligatory for the preachers to Allah, and for those who enjoin good and forbid evil, to bear up and be patient, due to the saying of Allah, Mighty and Majestic, to His Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): [Al-Ahqaf: 35], and His saying, Exalted is He, regarding Luqman that he said to his son: [Luqman: 17], and His saying (peace and blessings be upon him): [Al-Anfal: 46].
Therefore, the campaigns launched by the people of falsehood, from among the secularists, the atheists, the communists, the polytheists, the Christians, the Jews, and others, against the preachers of truth, must be met with defending them, calling to good, clarifying the corruption of those statements, and the obligation to reject them and not pay attention to them, along with focusing on encouraging the preachers and those who enjoin good and forbid evil, and assuring them that Allah will support them. So they must be truthful, they must be patient, they must use good manners, and they must have knowledge. And Allah makes the outcome for the righteous. Allah the Exalted said: [Hud: 49], and He, Exalted is He, says: [Al-Ankabut: 69].
So patience is necessary, and jihad is necessary, and advising those who call to falsehood and discourage from truth is necessary. It is necessary to respond to them, clarify their falsehood, and clarify that it is obligatory for the people of truth to support truth and its people, call to truth, and be patient with that. And it is necessary for the rulers, may Allah guide them, to carry this out, suppress everyone who targets the people of good, and deter them from their falsehood until they straighten out on truth, and until they cease from harming the preachers and those who enjoin good and forbid evil. It is also obligatory for the rulers to carry out what Allah has made obligatory upon them, which is deterring the one who spreads falsehood and disciplining him, and supporting the oppressed and the caller to truth.
We ask Allah for their success, and by the praise of Allah, they are making great efforts with those who enjoin good and forbid evil and with those who call to Allah. We ask Allah for more good for them, and we ask Allah to help them with what is in the reform and salvation of the Ummah!
And it is obligatory for all believing men and women to cooperate in righteousness and piety, and to cooperate with the rulers in calling to good, and to inform the rulers of what may be hidden from them through good correspondence and advice; so that the rulers and those in charge are aware of the evil that occurs, which may be hidden from them. The point is that cooperation in good among Muslims, both rulers and the ruled, is one of the most important obligations, due to the saying of Allah the Exalted: [Al-Ma'idah: 2], and His saying, Exalted is He: Indeed, man is in loss, except those who believe and do righteous deeds and enjoin one another to truth and enjoin one another to patience [Al-Asr: 1 - 3].
So cooperation is necessary between those in charge, the scholars, and the preachers to truth in manifesting truth and calling to it, and in suppressing falsehood and eliminating it. We ask Allah to guide everyone to what brings His pleasure and what brings the reform of everyone.

So be patient, [O Muhammad], as were those of determination among the messengers and do not be impatient for them.
فَاصْبِرْ كَمَا صَبَرَ أُولُو الْعَزْمِ مِنَ الرُّسُلِ وَلا تَسْتَعْجِلْ لَهُمْO my son, establish prayer, enjoin what is right, forbid what is wrong, and be patient over what befalls you. Indeed, [all] that is of the matters [requiring] determination.
Indeed, Allah is with the patient.
وَاصْبِرُوا إِنَّ اللَّهَ مَعَ الصَّابِرِينَTherefore, the campaigns launched by the people of falsehood, from among the secularists, the atheists, the communists, the polytheists, the Christians, the Jews, and others, against the preachers of truth, must be met with defending them, calling to good, clarifying the corruption of those statements, and the obligation to reject them and not pay attention to them, along with focusing on encouraging the preachers and those who enjoin good and forbid evil, and assuring them that Allah will support them. So be patient; indeed, the [best] outcome is for the righteous.
فَاصْبِرْ إِنَّ الْعَاقِبَةَ لِلْمُتَّقِينَAnd those who strive for Us - We will surely guide them to Our ways. And indeed, Allah is with the doers of good.
