Are the hands placed above the navel or below it when folded?
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q: From a brother, M. M. S. - Sabiya, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. I see some of the worshippers when they fold their hands that they do not place them above the chest, but rather some of them place them below the navel and some of them slightly above it. We ask for guidance on this matter, may you be rewarded, if Allah wills.
A: It is prescribed to place them on the chest while standing, before the bowing and after it, because this is established from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in the hadith of Wa'il ibn Hujr, and Qabisa ibn Hulb al-Tai from his father from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). And Allah is the possessor of success.
