The ruling on praying without a turban

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q: Is it permissible to pray without a turban—that is, a ghutrah? And is it permissible for the imam who leads people in prayer to pray without a ghutrah? And is a taqiyah sufficient? Please provide the evidence, may Allah preserve you. And peace be upon you, and Allah's mercy and blessings.

A: There is no blame on praying without a turban; because the head is not an awrah (part of the body that must be covered), and it is not obligatory to cover it in prayer, whether the one praying is an imam, praying alone, or a ma'mum (one praying behind the imam). However, wearing the customary turban is better, especially when praying with people; due to the saying of Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) :
O children of Adam, take your adornment at every masjidيَا بَنِي آدَمَ خُذُوا زِينَتَكُمْ عِنْدَ كُلِّ مَسْجِدٍ
[Al-A'raf: 31], and it is part of adornment.
And it is known that the male pilgrims in ihram (the consecrated state of pilgrimage) pray with their heads uncovered; because they are prohibited from covering them during ihram. So it is known from this that uncovering the head in prayer has no blame.
May Allah guide everyone to beneficial knowledge and acting upon it, for He is the All-Hearing, the Responsive.
And peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah and His blessings.
