Can a Muslim treat himself with recitation and blowing into water?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q: Is it permissible for a Muslim to treat himself with recitation and blowing into water?
When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) felt ill, he would blow into his hands (three times) with (Say: He is Allah, the One) and (the two chapters of protection), and then wipe with them over as much of his body as he could when going to sleep, (peace and blessings be upon him), starting with his head, face, and chest, as Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) informed us in the authentic hadith. Jibril also recited a ruqyah (healing by Qur'anic recitation) over him when he was ill, saying:
In the name of Allah I exorcise you from everything and safeguard you from every evil that may harm you and from the eye of a jealous one. Allah would cure you and I invoke the name of Allah for you.بسم الله أرقيك، من كل شيء يؤذيك، من شر كل نفس أو عين حاسد الله يشفيك، بسم الله أرقيك
Sahih Muslim 2186
(three times), and this ruqyah is prescribed and beneficial.
He (peace and blessings be upon him) also recited over water for Thabit ibn Qays (may Allah be pleased with him) and ordered it to be poured over him, as Abu Dawud narrated in the chapter on medicine with a good chain... and so on, of the types of ruqyah that occurred during his time (peace and blessings be upon him). Among these is that he (peace and blessings be upon him) recited a ruqyah for some of the sick, saying:
"Allahumma Rabban-nasi, adhhibil-ba'sa, washfi, Antash-Shafi, la shifa'a illa shifa'uka, shifaan la yughadiru saqaman [O Allah! the Rubb of mankind! Remove this disease and cure (him or her)! You are the Great Curer. There is no cure but through You, which leaves behind no disease]اللهم رب الناس، أذهب البأس، واشف أنت الشافي، لا شفاء إلا شفاؤك، شفاء لا يغادر سقما
