The wisdom behind changing one's location for performing the sunnah

Q: What is the wisdom behind the fact that when a worshipper finishes performing the prayer and stands to perform the sunnah, he changes his location to a place other than the one in which he prayed the obligatory prayer?

A: As far as we know, no authentic hadith from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) has been established regarding changing one's location; rather, some weak hadiths have been reported on this matter. Some scholars have mentioned that the wisdom behind this, on the view that it is prescribed, is the testimony of the places in which one prays. And Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) knows best, and He is the Wise, the All-Knowing.
