There is a widely circulated hadith, namely that a woman vowed to commit unlawful sexual intercourse, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered her to go out wearing perfume.

The questioner : There is a famous hadith on the tongues of the common people... they mention it in... in the context of perfuming, that a woman in the time of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) vowed to commit unlawful sexual intercourse, may Allah protect us from that, so the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered her to go out wearing perfume... There is no doubt that this hadith is not authentic.
