Has the one who saw the Messenger in a dream truly seen him?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
A reader from Dammam sent me a message containing a question in which he says:

Q: (One night I saw myself as if I had descended into a new house, and I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) on my right. I remembered that he (peace and blessings be upon him) was forgiven for what had come before of his sins and what would come after. I remembered the stratagem of Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, and how I should guard against it. I asked the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) that question... but I woke up.
My question: Is the one I saw truly the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him)? And how does a person guard against the stratagem of Allah? I ask for clarification. May Allah reward you with good.

A: If you saw him (peace and blessings be upon him) in his known form as reported in the authentic hadiths, then you have seen him; because of his (peace and blessings be upon him) saying:
And whoever sees me in a dream then surely he has seen me for Satan cannot impersonate me.
Sahih al-Bukhari 110
It is agreed upon as authentic. And we ask Allah to make us and you among those who follow him with clear understanding.
As for guarding against the stratagem of Allah, it is done by obeying His commands, leaving His prohibitions, and standing by His limits, and by persisting in repentance from the sins that occur, along with increasing righteous deeds, the remembrance of Allah, seeking forgiveness, and reading the Noble Qur'an, and by asking Him, Glorified and Exalted is He, frequently to keep you firm upon the truth and not to let your heart deviate from guidance. And Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, said:
Call upon Me; I will respond to you.
[Ghafir: 60] And He, Glorified and Exalted is He, said:
And whoever fears Allah - He will make for him a way out (3) And will provide for him from where he does not expect.
[Al-Talaq: 2 - 3] And He, peace and blessings be upon him, said: :
and whoever fears Allah - He will remove for him his misdeeds and make great for him his reward.
[Al-Talaq: 5] And He, peace and blessings be upon him, said: :
Indeed, the righteous will be within gardens and springs.
[Adh-Dhariyat: 15] And He, Glorified and Exalted is He, said:
And turn to Allah in repentance, all of you, O believers, that you might succeed.
[An-Nur: 31] And the verses in this meaning are many.
And peace be upon you, and Allah’s mercy and blessings.
