Ruling on Carrying a Child in Prayer When There Is Impurity on Him

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
And he carried his son, and there was impurity on him, and he was aware of it, but there was a barrier between him and the child?

Answer:
The most likely view—and Allah knows best—is that he should not carry him while aware of the impurity. He should not carry him, acting on the principle that the one praying does not carry impurity. But if he did not know, or if he knew that the child was pure, then praise be to Allah. Or if he did not know, then praise be to Allah; he may carry him. [The Prophet] (peace and blessings be upon him) carried Amamah, assuming she was pure, or not knowing about her state.
