Ruling on one who prayed while forgetting that there was impurity on his garment

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q108: The questioner says: If I prayed and there was impurity on my garment and I was unaware, am I required to repeat the prayer? And if the prayer is invalid, what should I do now?
A108: If a person prays in a garment that has impurity on it, and he did not know, or he knew but forgot, and he did not realize it until after he had prayed, then his prayer is valid. He does not repeat the prayer because it is valid, and he is excused by the forgetfulness in this case. Indeed, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) entered the prayer with his sandals on, then he removed them during the prayer. When he finished the prayer, he informed the people that he had removed them because Jibril informed him that there was impurity on them. He did not repeat the prayer from the beginning. This indicates that if a person prays and does not know about the impurity, or if he knew about it but forgot, his prayer is valid.
