The Meaning of Worshiping Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) and Diverting It to Others

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
He said in the questions: What is the interpretation of worship?

Answer:
Because it is a form of worship, meaning: calling upon the dead, seeking aid from the dead, and calling upon a dead person. This is worship; because he said: "O Allah, do not make my grave an idol that is worshipped," meaning: that is called upon other than Allah and sought for aid other than Allah. So, calling upon a dead person and seeking aid from a dead person is worship of him.
Just as it is worship of Allah when directed to Allah: "O Allah, forgive me" is worship of Allah, "O Allah, have mercy on me" is worship of Allah, "O Allah, admit me to Paradise" is worship of Allah, "O Allah, save me from the Fire" is worship of Allah, "O Allah, keep me firm upon the truth" is worship of Allah. So, if the created being says, "O my master so-and-so, help me," or "I am under your protection," he has worshipped him.
