Is it permissible to retaliate in kind against one who has insulted with a forbidden term?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
If the one who insults utters a forbidden term, should he be answered in kind?
In kind
So whoever has assaulted you, then assault himفَمَنِ اعْتَدَى عَلَيْكُمْ فَاعْتَدُوا عَلَيْهِ
[al-Baqarah:194] If he says: May Allah curse you, say: No, you are the one whom Allah has cursed! And if he forgives and makes amends, it is like what He, Exalted and Majestic is He, said:
And if you punish [an enemy, O believers], punish with an equivalent of that with which you were harmed. But if you are patient - it is better for those who are patient.
[al-Nahl:126].
