Warning Against the Invalidity of the Hadith (Work for your worldly life as if you will live forever, and work for your Hereafter as if you will die tomorrow) in both chain and text.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh: And this reminds me of the error of some writers who realized the invalidity of his saying (peace and blessings be upon him):
Work for your worldly life as if you will live forever, and work for your Hereafter as if you will die tomorrow. اعمَلْ لدنياك كأنك تعيش أبدًا ، واعمل لآخرتك كأنك تموت غدًا
This first part is invalid in both chain and text. But some writers say: Is this what is authentic in the hadith, but its meaning is correct? Absolutely not,
Work for your worldly life as if you will live forever. اعمَلْ لدنياك كأنك تعيش أبدًا
this is not correct. You must work for your worldly life only to the extent that suffices you so that you do not ask people or become a burden on them. Then Allah (Mighty and Majestic) is, if Allah wills, the One who expands your provision. This is found in the text of the Noble Qur'an when He (Mighty and Majestic) said:
Whoever should desire the immediate - We hasten for him from it what We will to whom We intend مَنْ كَانَ يُرِيدُ الْعَاجِلَةَ عَجَّلْنَا لَهُ فِيهَا مَا نَشَاءُ لِمَنْ نُرِيدُ
[Al-Isra 17:18]
We give to whom We will. Therefore, we find people varying greatly in their attainment of wealth, whether little or much, even though they strive and toil for what? For earning sustenance. That is because this is the cause for sustenance, not the cause for abundance in sustenance, for that is in the hand of Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He), and the matter returns to divine decree and destiny.

The questioner: And victory is like sustenance in this.

The Shaykh: Yes.

The questioner: And victory is like sustenance in this matter.

The Shaykh: Yes, you have done well, may Allah bless you. Like this, and welcome.

The questioner: We ask permission.

The Shaykh: May Allah bless you, yes.

The questioner: May Allah reward you with good.

The Shaykh: And to you as well, if Allah wills, and welcome.

The questioner : Safe travels.

The Shaykh : Welcome.

The questioner: Peace be upon you.

The Shaykh : And upon you be peace, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings.

The questioner : May Allah reward you with good.

The Shaykh: Welcome, you have honored us, my brother, may Allah bless you.

The questioner : Do not forget us in your supplication.
