Question:
Regarding the famous saying: “Work for your worldly life as if you will live forever, and work for your Hereafter as if you will die tomorrow”?

Answer:
Answer: Yes, this is a piece of wisdom among the sayings of wisdom. Work for your worldly life as if you will live forever, and work for your Hereafter as if you will die tomorrow. Work for your worldly life for what you need in it, so that you do not need people and become humiliated before them. Work to make yourself independent of people, and do not be lazy. And work for your Hereafter as if you will die tomorrow, as Ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: “When evening comes, do not wait for the morning, and when morning comes, do not wait for the evening.” Do not postpone deeds for a time that you may not reach. You may reach it, but what prevents you from working is that something overtakes you: an illness overtakes you, or laziness overtakes you.
