The Specificity of Post-Prayer Dhikr for Obligatory Prayers as Opposed to Voluntary Prayers

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
The other part of the question, if you would be so kind, O Shaykh, is: Is it prescribed to recite the supplication that is said after the obligatory prayer after the voluntary prayers?

Answer:
I am not aware of any evidence for this. The dhikr after the obligatory prayers is specific to the obligatory prayers, such as: "I seek Allah's forgiveness three times, O Allah, You are Peace..." and so on. This is because the authentic hadiths do not state that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to say this after the voluntary prayers. The Companions only mentioned these dhikr after the obligatory prayers and did not mention them after the voluntary prayers, and acts of worship are based on divine legislation.
Therefore, it is obligatory for the Muslim to stand by the texts and not to add to them in acts of worship. However, if he seeks Allah's forgiveness, or makes supplication, or remembers Allah without being restricted to the specific dhikr after the obligatory prayers, there is no blame on him.

The presenter : May Allah reward you with good, and may He do you good.
