Ruling on touching a book containing the Qur'an without ritual purity

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
We return at the beginning of this episode to a message sent to the program from Makkah al-Mukarramah, signed by one of our sisters from there, who says: Umm Abdullah from Makkah. Umm Abdullah, we presented a question from you in a previous episode, and in this episode she asks and says: I am a first-grade elementary school teacher, and I teach the students the subject of the Noble Qur'an from a specific book that compiles the curriculum of tawhid (the oneness of Allah) and fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence) along with the surahs prescribed for memorization. Is it permissible for the students to touch the surahs written in that book before they perform ritual purity? And is it obligatory for me to take them out to perform wudu' (the ablution for prayer) every class before touching that book, in compliance with the saying of Allah the Exalted:
None touch it except the purified.لا يَمَسُّهُ إِلَّا الْمُطَهَّرُونَ
[Al-Waqi'ah: 79]? Please guide us, may Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon the Messenger of Allah, and upon his family and his Companions, and upon whoever follows his guidance. As for what follows:
This book, which contains the curriculum of tawhid and fiqh and some of the surahs that the students read, does not have the ruling of a mushaf (a written copy of the Qur'an). There is no blame on the students for touching this book, because the verse refers to the mushaf, whereas this is not a mushaf. Likewise, there is nothing wrong with a person in a state of minor or major ritual impurity touching books of tafsir (Qur'anic exegesis), and likewise books of translation, i.e., translations of the meanings of the Qur'an; because they are not mushafs. A mushaf is what contains the Qur'an exclusively. This is the mushaf. But if the Qur'an is combined with a collection of verses, or surahs are combined with other things, or the Qur'an is combined with tafsir, this is not a mushaf. Yes, there is no blame on touching it while in a state of impurity. Yes.

The presenter : Praise be to Allah, may Allah reward you with good. So, is there a wisdom in combining more than one curriculum with the curriculum of the Noble Qur'an?

The Shaykh : There is no blame, yes.

The presenter : Praise be to Allah, may Allah reward you with good.
