The third question of Fatwa No. ( 21173 )
Q3: Touching the Noble Mushaf. We know that touching the Mushaf without ablution is not permissible, and in the Noble Qur'an it says:[Al-Waqi'ah 56:79] . Some say: The Muslim is among the purified ones, so it is permissible for him to touch the Mushaf and read it without ablution, except that there are exceptions in boys' and girls' schools. Please inform us, may Allah reward you with good.
A3 : The correct view is that it is not permissible to touch the Mushaf except in a state of ritual purity; because Allah the Exalted said:[Al-Waqi'ah 56:79] And in the letter that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) wrote to 'Amr ibn Hazm : Muwatta Malik 15:1 , and this is the opinion of the four Imams and others. Male and female students in schools are included in this ruling, and if they are young, they are taught this etiquette with the Qur'an so that they grow up revering and respecting the Qur'an.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
