The Shaykh’s advice to one of the attendees to keep his son away from clothing that contains images.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh: What Allah willed, you named him.

The questioner: Ahmad.

The Shaykh: Ahmad, what Allah willed, may Allah cause him to grow up well, may Allah please your eye with him, and may Allah make him successful in this world and the Hereafter. Yes, and as for you... in the summer days, as you know, our sons and grandsons visited us, and so on. These clothes... are a general affliction... but worse than that are the images. We, praise be to Allah, have not been afflicted with these images. These elections are a general affliction. Therefore, Abu Ahmad, you must be careful and raise your offspring, if Allah wills, according to the rulings of the Shari'ah. Do not let the current carry you away so that you say, "We cannot find anything but children's clothes with images." Whoever walks on the path will arrive, so a person must find what he seeks from that by which he fears his Lord - Blessed and Exalted is He - but a right is not lost if there is a seeker after it. If you seek, you will find. I swear by Allah, I found this... it is not permissible. Just as you look for a doctor who treats you and your family, and he is knowledgeable and gives good advice, and so on, religion is more deserving of... Therefore, this clothing must be changed, and you should be a good example for others.
