Ruling on a debtor who is unable to pay taking from zakah

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Is it permissible for a person to take from the funds of zakah if he has a debt and is unable to pay it off?

Answer:
Yes, he may take from the zakah funds. He may take from the zakah funds whatever is needed to pay off the debt, provided he is unable to pay the debt. He is not permitted to spend it on anything else. If he takes assistance from his good brothers from the zakah to pay off his debt, it is obligatory for him to spend that on paying off the debt, not on his other needs.

The presenter : May Allah reward you with good, and may He do you good.
