The manner of a woman praying with her brother

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Another question: You say, “Is it permissible for me and my brother to pray in congregation, knowing that he is not married? In our country, they say that the imam must be married. Is this correct? May Allah reward you with good.”

Answer:
There is no basis for this condition. It is permissible for the imam to be married or unmarried; there is no blame in that. This statement is invalid. It is not a condition for the imam to be married. If you pray with your brother, pray behind him; do not stand in a row with him. A woman does not stand in a row with men. So, if you pray with him at night, for example, in the tahajjud prayer, you should be behind him. He does not pray the obligatory prayers in the house; it is obligatory for him to pray the obligatory prayer with the people, and he does not pray it in the house. If he prays in the house because he missed the prayer due to sleep or something similar, or if he is praying a voluntary prayer at night and you pray with him, there is nothing wrong with it. However, do not stand to his right, but rather behind him. Yes, because the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered the women to be behind the men. Umm Sulaym prayed with her son Anas, so Anas stood in a row with him (peace and blessings be upon him), and she stood behind them. In another hadith: “Anas and the orphan stood in a row behind the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and she was behind them.” Yes.
