Cutting Off a Voluntary Prayer When the Call to Prayer Is Made
Question: I see some people when they stand for the sunnah prayer, if the imam makes the call to prayer and they have prayed one rak'ah and started the second, they cut off their prayer without completing the second rak'ah. Is this permissible or not?
Answer: If the call to prayer is made and the Muslim is in a voluntary prayer that he started before the call, he should complete it lightly and not cut it off;because of His saying, the Exalted: [Muhammad: 33], so there is no need to cut off the voluntary prayer in which he has started.
As for after the call to prayer, it is not permissible for the follower to start a voluntary prayer, but this applies to the one who started the voluntary prayer before the call was made; he must complete it lightly and catch up with the imam, and it is not permissible for him to cut it off.
[Prayer Behind the Rows]
Question: If I enter the mosque and find the row complete, should I pull a person with me, or should I pray in the row with the congregation alone, or what should I do if I find no way to pray beside the imam? Please inform us, may Allah reward you with the best reward.
Answer: Whoever comes and finds the row complete should try to find a gap in the row to enter it. If he does not find one, he should try to enter to the right of the imam. All of these are legitimate ways. If he is unable to do so, he should wait, hoping that someone will come to stand in a row with him behind the rows. As for pulling someone from the row, this is not advisable,First: because it creates a gap in the row,And secondly: because the hadith reported on this matter is a hadith that does not serve as proof. Therefore, pulling someone from the row is not advisable. Rather, he should do what he can and wait if he is unable to enter the row, or to the right of the imam, until someone comes to stand in a row with him. As for praying alone behind the rows, this is not permissible due to the prohibition of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) of that, in the authentic hadith,And his saying (peace and blessings be upon him):Sunan Ibn Majah 1003Sahih (Darussalam) .
