Advice for those who are preoccupied with worldly affairs to the neglect of Hajj

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Your Eminence! Some people are preoccupied with various matters to the neglect of Hajj. They may be preoccupied with building a house, or getting married, or buying a car, or the like. Is there a word to say on this?

Answer:
Yes, it is not permissible for a believer to be preoccupied to the neglect of the obligatory Hajj. Whoever is able to perform the obligatory Hajj must hasten to perform it, and it is not permissible for him to be preoccupied with building a house, or buying a farm, or the like.
As for marriage, it has a different status. If he needs to get married and fears for himself, he should start with marriage, because it is a necessary expense. So if he needs to get married and fears for himself from delaying marriage, he should do it before Hajj, and then perform Hajj afterwards. But if he is not afraid, he should start with Hajj. Yes.

The presenter : May Allah reward you with good, and may He do you good. So, if a person owns real estate, such as houses and farms, and he has not yet performed the obligatory Hajj, is he considered to be in error?

The Shaykh : Yes, it is not permissible for him to be preoccupied. He must repent to Allah for his delay, and he must hasten to perform Hajj. Yes.

The presenter : May Allah reward you with good, and may He do you good. And this includes both the far and the near, naturally?

The Shaykh : Yes, even if he is in America, or in any place, or in Russia, or in any place. In any place on earth, he is obligated to strive to perform it if he is able to do so. Yes.

The presenter : May Allah do you good, and may Allah reward you with the best reward.
