The ruling on kissing the head of the grandmother, aunt, and maternal aunt
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Is it permissible to kiss the head of the grandmother, maternal aunt, and aunt, or is it not permissible? May Allah reward you with good.
Answer:
They are all mahram (relatives one may not marry): the grandmother, the maternal aunt, the aunt, and the sister; they are all mahram. So if he kisses the head of the older woman, or between her eyes, or kisses her cheek, there is no harm. The Companion al-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) used to kiss Aisha on her cheek, and she was his daughter, when he entered upon her and she was ill; he kissed her on her cheek.
So there is no blame in this. And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), when he entered upon Fatimah, she would stand up to him, and he would kiss her (peace and blessings be upon him), and she would take his hand and shake it. And when he entered upon her while he was sitting, she would stand up to him, take his hand, shake it, and kiss him (peace and blessings be upon him). Yes.
