The Ruling on Women Visiting Graveyards

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
He says: My mother goes to the graveyards with a group of women, and this happens every year. They take food and other things with them. I have been angry about this practice and have advised her, but she has not stopped. What do you advise me to do? May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
We advise you to continue giving advice, and to seek advice from the scholars in your area so that they may advise them, so that they may advise your mother and those with her. For the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Cursed are the women who visit gravesلعن زائرات القبور

The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Cursed are the women who visit gravesلعن زائرات القبور
So you should advise them and say: It is not permissible for them to visit graves. However, it is prescribed for them to make du'a' (supplication) for the deceased in their homes and in every place. Supplication is good. As for women visiting graves, this is prohibited. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Cursed are the women who visit gravesلعن زائرات القبور
So you should continue giving advice, and ask your brothers, or your good neighbors, or some of the scholars in your area to advise them and to make it clear to them that this is not permissible. There is no harm in reading to them some books that discuss this, explaining the prohibition of visiting graves for women. You have my book *Al-Tahqiq wa al-Iyadhah*; if you read to them what I mentioned in it, perhaps they will respond to it. Also, what is broadcast on the Quran radio in this program, if you let them hear it, perhaps Allah will guide them through it. Yes.

The presenter : O Allah, amen. May Allah reward you with good, and may He do you good.
