What is the ruling on women visiting graves?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : May Allah reward you. A questioner asks: O honorable Shaykh, is it permissible for people to visit graves or not?

The Shaykh : What?

The questioner : Or not? Is it permissible for women to visit graves or not?

The Shaykh : Yes, the correct view is that it is forbidden for women to visit graves, and it is not permissible for them to do so. This is because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)
Allah's Messenger cursed the women who visit the graves, and those who use them as Masajid and put torches on them. لعن زائرات القبور والمتخذين عليها المساجد والسرج
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 320Da'if (Darussalam)
This is part of the perfect wisdom, for if women were permitted to visit graves, you would see the cemetery always and forever filled with women. A woman cannot be patient; you would find every woman going to her daughter’s grave at the start of the day, and... in the day to her sister’s, and at the start of the night to her mother’s, and later in the night to her grandmother’s. A woman cannot be patient. Therefore, it was part of the wisdom that women do not visit graves. If someone asks, “What do you say about a woman visiting the grave of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him)?” We say: Allah the Exalted has made her in no need of visiting it. She can say, “Peace be upon you, O Prophet, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings,” in any place on earth, and her greeting will reach the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family). And thus, there is no need for her to go to the grave to greet him. Yes.

The questioner : May Allah reward you with good.
