Exaggerating the spreading of the legs while standing in prayer

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
He says: I notice that some people, when they stand for prayer, exaggerate in the space between their legs, to the extent that they harm the person next to them. He seeks guidance, may the Shaykh be respected.

Answer:
Yes, every person praying should not harm his neighbor, and he should strive to close the gaps without causing harm. Each one should ask his brother to move closer until his foot is next to his foot, without shoving or causing harm. The aim is to close the gaps; so one should not spread his legs wide and harm his neighbors, nor should the neighbors refuse to move closer to him. Rather, each one should move closer to his brother and close the gaps, as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded this, for he said:
Close the gapsسدوا الفرج
And Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) said:
One of us would place his foot against the foot of his companionكان أحدنا يلصق قدمه بقدم صاحبه
.
So you, O Abdullah, should be careful to close the gaps and close the space between the legs without harming your neighbors by spreading your legs wide. And so it is with his neighbor, and so your neighbor should strive to be upright in his standing and in the position of his feet, so that the gaps are closed without harm, from each person to his neighbor.

The presenter : May Allah reward you with good.
