Supplication in Times of Distress

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
We return at the beginning of this episode to a message sent to the program from Jizan, from the listener: Muhammad Saleh Ahmad. We presented Brother Muhammad with a question in a previous episode, and in this episode he asks and says: I want you to clarify for us the supplications that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would repeat when a matter distressed him.

Answer:
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon the Messenger of Allah, and upon his family and his Companions, and upon those who follow his guidance. As for what follows:
It is established from him (peace and blessings be upon him) that when a matter distressed him, he would say:
There is no god but Allah, the Immense, the Forbearing. There is no god but Allah, Lord of the Immense Throne, there is no god but Allah, the Lord of the heavens and the earth and the Lord of the Immense Throne.لا إله إلا الله العظيم الحليم، لا إله إلا الله رب العرش الكريم، لا إله إلا الله رب السماوات والأرض، ورب العرش العظيم
Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 702
This is the supplication for distress, and he would then supplicate with whatever concerned him. He would seek help through patience and prayer; when a matter distressed him, he would turn to prayer and pray whatever was easy for him (peace and blessings be upon him), acting in accordance with the saying of Allah (Exalted and Majestic is He):
and seek help through patience and prayerوَاسْتَعِينُوا بِالصَّبْرِ وَالصَّلاةِ
[al-Baqarah: 45].
So the Sunnah for the believer when a matter distresses him is to turn to prayer and supplication, and this dhikr:
There is no god but Allah, the Immense, the Forbearing. There is no god but Allah, Lord of the Immense Throne, there is no god but Allah, the Lord of the heavens and the earth and the Lord of the Immense Throne.لا إله إلا الله العظيم الحليم، لا إله إلا الله رب العرش الكريم، لا إله إلا الله رب السماوات والأرض، ورب العرش العظيم
Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 702
Then he supplicates along with it with whatever Allah has made easy for him. He begins the supplication with praise and concludes it with the prayer upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). This is among the causes of acceptance. Yes.

The presenter : May Allah reward you with good, and may He do you good.
