Ruling on drawing the Ka'bah on walls to celebrate the return of the pilgrim

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
In our village, the family of the pilgrim to the House of Allah prepares to welcome him by drawing the Ka'bah and the Prophet's Mosque on the wall, writing phrases of welcome, and painting the stones white. Is this permissible, or is it a religious innovation? May Allah reward you with good.
Answer: As for placing images of the Ka'bah and the mosque, it is better to leave that alone, because this may lead to exaggeration regarding these things. It may lead to facing the Ka'bah even if it is not in the direction of the qiblah, since it is placed in a direction other than the qiblah. It may lead to the belief that this is a recommended practice and an act of devotion. Therefore, what should be done is to leave that alone. As for decorating the house and beautifying the house, that is a broad matter. Sweeping the house, and beautifying the walls if they are dirty, is something with no harm, as it falls under the category of beautification. However, drawing the Ka'bah, or the Sacred Mosque, or the Prophet's Mosque, should be left alone. It is not permissible to draw the Ka'bah, because people may exaggerate in its regard, and they may call upon it instead of Allah. They may face it in prayer when it is in a direction other than the qiblah. So, the conclusion is that this should not be done.
The presenter: May Allah reward you with good and do you good.
