The Ruling on Sufficing with Giving a Booklet and Tape in Forbidding Evil
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
A message was sent from the Holy City by one of the sisters, Umm 'Atikah, asking and saying: Is it sufficient in forbidding evil to give a booklet or a tape to one from whom you see evil, where this tape addresses the evil itself?
Answer: This is good, but it is not sufficient. If you are able to give advice and speak kindly, then do both of these. However, if you are not able to, then sending the tape and booklet is good and beneficial, and it contains much good, but it does not replace forbidding evil and enjoining good. Whoever is able to enjoin good and forbid evil should do so along with the booklet and the tape. All of this is so that, perhaps, Allah will benefit through all of it.
The presenter: May Allah reward you with good and do you good.
