The Ruling on a Woman Wearing a Man's Clothing

A listener sent a message containing several issues. This listener, identified as (A. M. Sh.) from Tabuk, says in one of the issues he sent: If a woman wears her husband's clothes and then wears her own garment or dress over them, is that permissible or not?
Answer: It is not permissible for a woman to wear a man's clothing, whether it is her husband's or anyone else's. In the authentic hadith, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: . Therefore, it is obligatory for her to wear her own specific clothing, and likewise for the man to wear his own specific clothing. As for wearing his specific clothing, even under her clothes, it is not permissible. Likewise, it is not permissible for a man to wear a woman's clothing, even under his clothes. Yes.
