The Ruling on Clearing the Throat in Prayer

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
He also asks and says: What is the ruling on people who clear their throats in prayer, and is this permissible?

Answer:
If there is a reason or cause, there is no harm. If something happens in his throat and he clears it to remove what has fallen into his throat, or if someone asks for permission to enter and he clears his throat to inform him that he is praying, there is no blame on him. And if he says: Subhan Allah, that is better so that the one asking for permission is alerted. It has been narrated from Ali (may Allah be pleased with him)
That he had two entrances from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and when he came to him while he was praying, he would clear his throat for him.أنه كان له من النبي ﷺ مدخلان، وكان إذا أتاه وهو يصلي تنحنح له
so that he would know that he is praying.
The point is: if there is a reason, if clearing the throat has a reason, there is no harm in that. But he should not do it frequently; it should be from time to time. As for if a need calls for it, because something has affected his throat, and he clears his throat for that, there is no blame on him, if Allah wills.
But if he does it frequently without a reason, and this continues, it is of the kind of idle behavior that invalidates the prayer. If he does it frequently, and this throat-clearing continues without a reason, without a cause, then this is of the kind of other idle behavior that invalidates the prayer.

The presenter : May Allah reward you with good.
