The Ruling on Cursing in the Mosque and Outside It

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
What is your advice to one who curses in the mosque?

Answer:
Cursing is forbidden in the mosque and outside the mosque. Cursing is among the major sins, in mosques, in homes, on roads, in cars, in trains, and in airplanes, in every place. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Cursing a believer is like killing himلعن المؤمن كقتله
He likened it to killing because of the gravity of the crime, and because it is among the greatest causes of hatred, enmity, and fitnah (trial, discord or temptation). He also said (peace and blessings be upon him):
Indeed, the cursers will not be witnesses or intercessors on the Day of Resurrection
And he also said (peace and blessings be upon him):
The believer does not insult the honor of others, nor curse, nor commit Fahishah, nor is he foul.
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 1977Hasan (Darussalam)
.
So it is obligatory for every believing man and woman to guard their tongue and protect it from what is not befitting. Among the ugliest speech is cursing and insulting, cursing one’s brother or companion, even in jest, even in play; it is not permissible.
So the believer’s concern is to guard his tongue and protect it so that he does not speak except good. And likewise, the believing woman must guard her tongue and protect it, and not say except good. As it is established in the two Sahihs from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said:
And whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, then let him say what is good or remain silent.
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2500Sahih (Darussalam)
And this is a great hadith:
And whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, then let him say what is good or remain silent.
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2500Sahih (Darussalam)
And Allah the Exalted says:
No good is there in much of their private conversation, except for those who enjoin charity or that which is right or conciliation between peopleلا خَيْرَ فِي كَثِيرٍ مِنْ نَجْوَاهُمْ إِلَّا مَنْ أَمَرَ بِصَدَقَةٍ أَوْ مَعْرُوفٍ أَوْ إِصْلاحٍ بَيْنَ النَّاسِ
[Al-Nisa: 114].
He also said (peace and blessings be upon him):
Indeed, the servant speaks a word without giving it thought
Sahih Ibn Hibban 47:155
meaning: what is clear in it
He will fall thereby into the Fire farther than the distance between the East and the West
As-Sunan al-Kubra lil-Nasa'i 67:15
He also said (peace and blessings be upon him):
Indeed, the servant speaks a word from the anger of Allah without giving it thought, and Allah writes for him thereby His anger until the Day he meets Himإن العبد ليتكلم بالكلمة من سخط الله ما يلقي لها بالًا يكتب الله له بها سخطه إلى يوم يلقاه
So the matter is great and serious, and there is no power or strength except with Allah.
So it is obligatory to guard the tongue and protect it from all speech that harms the servant, such as cursing, insulting, backbiting, talebearing, lying, false testimony, and false claims, and other than this from what Allah has forbidden. Yes.

The presenter : May Allah reward you with good.
