Question:
The first message in this episode is one that reached the program from Libya, sent by one of the brothers there, who indicated his name with the letters (M. S. B. 'A). He has a number of questions, among which is a question that says: Is the greeting of the mosque not prayed in the Fajr time when the mu'adhdhin has called for prayer, and one has already prayed the Sunnah of Fajr at home?
Answer:
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon the Messenger of Allah, and upon his family and his Companions, and upon whoever follows his guidance. As for what follows:
The scholars have differed regarding prayers with specific causes, whether they are performed in the times of prohibition, such as the greeting of the mosque, the eclipse prayer, and the tawaf prayer, or not. The correct view is that they are performed in the times of prohibition, and that there is no prohibition against them in the times in which prayer is prohibited; because they are performed with causes that arise for the worshipper. So when the cause is present, it is prescribed for him to pray. So if one enters the mosque after the Fajr prayer, or before the prayer, having already performed the Sunnah of Fajr at home, it is Sunnah for him to pray the greeting of the mosque, two rak'ahs, before the prayer. Likewise, if one enters the mosque after the Fajr prayer, or after the 'Asr prayer, to sit in it for rest, or for reading, or for study, he prays the greeting of the mosque, according to the most correct of the scholars' opinions, due to the generality of his statement (peace and blessings be upon him) in the authentic hadith:Sahih al-Bukhari 1167 And this great hadith encompasses the times of prohibition and others.
And likewise his statement (peace and blessings be upon him) regarding the eclipse,Sahih al-Bukhari 1058, for it encompasses the time of 'Asr, if the sun were to be eclipsed, so the eclipse prayer is prayed. And likewise his statement (peace and blessings be upon him): Mishkat al-Masabih 1045, and success is from Allah. Yes.
The presenter : May Allah reward you with good, and may He do you good.
