The Love of Allah for Those He Tests

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Is it true that if Allah loves a person, He tests him, since we always hear these phrases? Please guide us on this, Your Eminence, Shaykh Abdulaziz?

Answer:
Yes, it is mentioned in the hadith:
When Allah loves a servantإن الله إذا أحب عبدًا ابتلاه
Sahih Muslim 2637a
And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
The most severe of people in affliction are the prophets, then the righteous, then the most excellent, then the most excellent.أشد الناس بلاء الأنبياء، ثم الصالحون، ثم الأمثل فالأمثل
They are the beloved of Allah. So the test is one by which the beloved are tested to purify them, to raise their ranks, and to be an example for others so that others may be patient and follow their example. For this reason, he (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
The most severe of people in trial are the prophets, then the most excellent, then the most excellentأشد الناس بلاء الأنبياء، ثم الأمثل فالأمثل
As-Sunan al-Kubra lil-Nasa'i 54:5
And in another narration:
Then the righteous, then the most excellent, then the most excellentثم الصالحون، ثم الأمثل فالأمثل
A person is tested according to the measure of his religion, and if there is firmness in his religion, the trial is intensified for himيبتلى المرء على قدر دينه، فإن كان في دينه صلابة شدد عليه في البلاء
.
For this reason, Allah tested the prophets with great trials. Some of them were killed, some were harmed, and some suffered severe and prolonged illness, like Ayyub. And our Prophet was greatly harmed in Makkah and al-Madinah, and despite this, he was patient, peace and blessings be upon him.

The intended meaning: That harm befalls the people of faith and piety according to their piety and faith. Yes.

The presenter : May Allah reward you with good, Your Eminence the Shaykh.
